Job Description

We are searching for a Full Stack PHP/Laravel developer to fill a vacancy at the firm. The following are to be the duties of the said candidates:

  • Participating in the development, testing and deployment of Web, Mobile and SMS applications undertaken within various projects at the firm.
  • Participating in the maintenance, troubleshooting and debugging of various systems built by and maintained by the firm.
  • Creation of User Manuals and other relevant documentation for software.
  • Installation and Maintenance of server environments to host applications.

 

The developer will be enganged on a 6 months consultancy contract that is renewable based on performance.

The role will be largely remote. It is however Nairobi based - the candidate should be within Nairobi and it's environs. Communication will be over Slack and Video calls. Candidate is expected to have their own suitalbe laptop for development - as well as a suitable internent connection. We may facilitate the cost of internet if need be.

Remuneration is KES 50,000 to KES 60,000; dependent on skills and experience.

 

Qualifications

  • Holder of a Bachelor of Computer Science degree or a degree in related programmes. A demonstrated grasp of foundational software engineering and computer science concepts is required in lieu of a degree from a recognized institution.
  • 1+ years of experience in PHP development, including familiarity with CMS and Frameworks. Experience in the Laravel Framework is a requirement. Familiarity with other frameworks and CMS’s is an added advantage.
  • Familiarity with front-end development. This includes:
    • CSS development and CSS frameworks and tooling, for example: TailwindCSS, Bootstrap, SASS, and others. Familiarity with at least one of these is a requirement, more is an added advantage.
    • Javascript/TypeScript and related frameworks and tooling, for example: JQuery, InertiaJS, Angular, React, Vue. Familiarity with at least one of these (even if it is a framework not listed here) is a requirement, more is an added advantage.
  • Familiarity/Experience with Linux.

Experience in Java, the Android SDK, and React Native is an added advantage.
